  • Decision To Extend The Notice Period For Landlords To Notify Tenants Of Their Intention Not To Renew The Lease Agreement Under The Standard Residential Property Lease Contracts
    • Resolution

     The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Real Estate General Authority (REGA),

    based on the authorities legally delegated to him; and

    according to paragraph (2) of Article (VIII) of the Legal Provisions Regulating Relationship between Lessor and Lessee, issued under the Royal Decree No. (M/73), dated 02/04/1447 AH.,

    resolves as follows:

    First: Notwithstanding the period stated in paragraph (1) of Article (VIII) of the Legal Provisions Regulating Relationship between Lessor and Lessee, the notice period, given by a lessor to a lessee for unwillingness to renew a lease agreement in the standard agreement for residential real estates, shall be increased to not less than (365) days before the expiry date of a lease agreement, if a lessee desires not to renew the lease agreement in order to vacate the real estate for their personal use, or for use by one of their fist-degree relative.

    Second: This Resolution shall be published in official gazette and shall be applicable as of its date.
