He currently holds the position of GASGI President. He previously worked at the Ministry of Defense until he reached the rank of Major General. He is a member of several local and international committees and professional associations in surveying and geospatial information, including his position as Co-Chair of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM), a founding member of the Advisory Committee of the UN-GGKIC in China, Chairman of the Arab Committee of UN-GGIM Experts, as well as his position as the Regional Representative for Arab States to the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS). He holds a Ph.D. in Surveying Engineering and Geospatial Information from Germany, a Master's degree in Surveying Engineering and Geospatial Information from Canada, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the United States, and a Higher Diploma in Surveying from the British School of Survey, affiliated with the British Royal Engineers.
