The Real Estate General Authority (REGA) has announced the approaching deadline for the first phase of real estate title registration in eight districts of Riyadh City. The registration period will end by the close of Thursday, 23 Rabi' Al-Awwal 1446 Hijri, corresponding to 26 September 2024.
REGA clarified that title registration will conclude in the following districts: (Jarir District, Al-Rabwah District, Al-Rayyan District, Al-Rawabi District, Al-Salam District, Al-Manar District, Al-Naseem West District, and Al-Naseem East District).
Property owners in these districts are urged to register their properties promptly through the Real Estate Registry Platform before the deadline in order to benefit from services such as real estate transaction execution and the documentation of any changes to their properties.
REGA explained that real estate title registration allows for the issuance of a unique “property number” and a title registration deed for each registered property. This deed includes the property's exact geographical location, ownership details, physical description, current condition, and any associated rights and obligations. It also records all transactions related to the property, serving as a verified basis for ownership and legal rights. These efforts contribute to the sustainability and growth of the real estate sector and its key enablers.
REGA emphasized that failure to register properties within the specified period may result in financial penalties, as stipulated in the Law of Real Estate Registration. These penalties are determined by a specialized committee responsible for handling violations. REGA also noted that title registration applications will remain open in all announced regions even after the expiration of the deadline specified in the announcement.
It is worth noting that the National Real Estate Registration Services Company (Real Estate Registry) is responsible for implementing the establishment and management of the Real Estate Registry in the Kingdom, using modern technologies and geospatial data through an integrated digital platform that contributes to enhancing transparency and trust in real estate services and data.
