The Real Estate General Authority (REGA) has announced the approaching deadline for the first phase of real estate title registration for six districts in Madinah, which will conclude by the end of Thursday, 3 October 2024, corresponding to 30 Rabi' Al-Awwal 1446 Hijri. The districts included are: part of King Fahd District, part of Al-Aqoul District, part of Jamma Umm Khalid District, Railway District, part of Al-Khadra District, and part of Abiar Al-Mashi District.
REGA urged property owners in these districts to promptly register their properties through the electronic Real Estate Registry Platform before the deadline, in order to benefit from property transaction services and the documentation of all changes made to their real estate units.
REGA clarified that title registration enables the issuance of a “property number” and a title registration deed for each registered property. This deed includes precise geographic location data, owner information, property descriptions, current condition, and any associated rights and obligations. It also documents all transactions related to the property, serving as a legal foundation for verifying ownership and associated rights, while supporting the sustainability and growth of the real estate sector and its key enablers.
REGA confirmed that failure to register properties within the specified period may result in financial penalties, as outlined in the Law of Real Estate Registration. These penalties are determined by a designated committee responsible for reviewing violations. REGA added that title registration applications remain open in all announced regions, even after the expiration of the registration period defined in the announcement.
It is worth noting that the National Real Estate Registration Services Company (Real Estate Registry – RER) is responsible for implementing and managing the Real Estate Registry across the Kingdom. This is done using advanced technologies and geospatial data through an integrated digital platform aimed at enhancing transparency and building trust in real estate services and data.
