The Real Estate General Authority (REGA) has announced the upcoming deadline for the first-time real estate title registration for (4) neighborhoods in Riyadh City and (13) neighborhoods in Al-Diriyah Governorate. The registration period will end on Thursday, 30 January 2025, corresponding to 30 Rajab 1446 Hijri.

REGA urged property owners in the following neighborhoods of Riyadh City— (Banban District, Al-Manakh District, Al-Faisaliya District, Al-Masha'el District)—and in Al-Diriyah Governorate— (West Zahrat Al-Awda District, East Zahrat Al-Awda District, Al-Asimah District, Al-Mulqah District, Quraywah District, Al-Faisaliya District, Al-Sarhiya District, Al-Thulayma District, Al-Khalidiya District, Al-Shuhada District, Al-Salmaniya District, Al-Malik District, Al-Mughtarah District)—to complete their property registration through the Real Estate Registry Platform rer.sa before the deadline to benefit from real estate transaction execution services and documentation of any changes made to their properties.

REGA clarified that the title registration process allows for the issuance of a "property number" and a title registration deed for each registered real estate unit. The title deed includes the property’s precise geographical location, ownership details, descriptions, current condition, and any associated rights and obligations. It also records all transactions related to the property, providing a documented basis for ownership and any real estate rights, thereby contributing to the sustainability and development of the real estate sector and its key enablers.

REGA confirmed that failing to register properties within the announced timeframe may subject owners to financial penalties as stipulated in the Law of Real Estate Registration. Penalties are determined by a specialized committee responsible for reviewing violations. However, REGA clarified that real estate title registration applications will continue to be accepted in all previously announced regions even after the specified registration deadline.

It is worth noting that the National Real Estate Registration Services Company (Real Estate Registry RER) is responsible for establishing and managing the Real Estate Registry in the Kingdom. This is carried out through an integrated digital platform that utilizes modern technologies and geospatial data to promote transparency and build trust in real estate services and information.
