Engineer Abdullah bin Saud Al-Hammad, Chief Executive Officer of the Real Estate General Authority (REGA), affirmed that the Kingdom has become a source of expertise and legislative practices in the real estate sector, exporting its experiences to several countries that have praised Saudi Arabia’s advancements—particularly in real estate legislation and rental regulation.
Speaking while leading REGA’s delegation at the 74th International Real Estate Federation Conference, which concluded today in the Republic of Singapore, Al-Hammad highlighted that the digital transformation undertaken across all government entities in the Kingdom has played a vital role in automating the operational processes of the programs and activities supervised by REGA in the real estate sector.
During the conference, REGA’s President met with a number of international real estate leaders from both government and private sectors. These meetings provided a platform to review key legislation and share experiences related to real estate sector development. In parallel with the conference, REGA also held discussions with Singapore’s Housing and Development Board and the Urban Redevelopment Authority to explore international best practices in real estate legislation and the governance of transactions for practitioners in the sector.
On a separate note, Engineer Jaber Al-Mishaal, REGA’s Chief Executive Officer for Operations, emphasized during the conference’s main session that the Kingdom is committed to applying the highest international standards in the real estate industry. He underscored Saudi Arabia’s focus on forming strategic partnerships that enable global developers and leaders to participate in shaping the industry, tapping into investment opportunities, and generating innovative solutions that transform challenges into meaningful progress.
Al-Mishaal also presented REGA’s achievements as the supervisory and regulatory authority of the real estate sector in Saudi Arabia. He discussed the development of digital platforms aimed at increasing trust and transparency and enhancing service efficiency through the full automation of real estate transactions. This integrated digital infrastructure supports investors, developers, and beneficiaries throughout their real estate journey—from property search to utilization and management.
During its participation in the conference, REGA also announced the launch of the Real Estate Excellence Award in Saudi Arabia. Details regarding the award's categories and participation mechanisms will be announced soon. Winners of this national award will have the opportunity to compete for the International Real Estate Excellence Award, organized by the International Real Estate Federation. This global award was launched last December through the Federation's office in Riyadh, which was recently established and has since initiated several media and leadership development programs. In recognition of these efforts, the Riyadh office received special honors during the conference in Singapore.
It is worth noting that the International Real Estate Federation Conference is one of the world’s largest gatherings of real estate professionals. It serves as a key platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, featuring industry experts who discuss the latest trends and developments in the global real estate sector.
