The Real Estate General Authority (REGA) has announced the approaching deadline for the initial real estate title registration in five districts of Riyadh City as part of the fourth phase of the Real Estate Registry rollout. The districts include Al-Hada, parts of Sidrah, Al-Shu'lah, and Al-Fursan, as well as Al-Nukhbah District. The registration period will end by the close of next Thursday.
REGA urged property owners within these districts to promptly register their properties through the Real Estate Registry Platform before the deadline, to benefit from services related to the execution of real estate transactions and the documentation of any changes to their properties.
REGA clarified that the title registration process enables the issuance of a “property number” and an official title deed for each registered real estate unit. This new deed includes precise geographical coordinates of the property, the owner's information, property descriptions, its condition, associated rights and obligations, and records of all transactions involving the property. It serves as an official reference for documenting ownership and related rights, supporting sector sustainability and reinforcing the real estate ecosystem and its key enablers.
REGA emphasized that failure to register properties within the specified period may result in financial penalties, as stipulated in the Law of Real Estate Registration. These penalties are determined by a specialized committee responsible for handling violations. REGA also noted that title registration applications will remain open in all announced regions even after the expiration of the deadline specified in the announcement.
It is worth noting that the National Real Estate Registration Services Company (Real Estate Registry) is responsible for implementing the establishment and management of the Real Estate Registry in the Kingdom, using modern technologies and geospatial data through an integrated digital platform that contributes to enhancing transparency and trust in real estate services and data.
