The Real Estate General Authority (REGA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, conducted 18 joint inspection tours in April, covering 237 real estate establishments across Riyadh, the Eastern Province, and Makkah regions. These tours aim to ensure compliance with real estate laws in general, and the Real Estate Brokerage Law in particular, as well as matters under the jurisdiction of participating government entities related to Saudization.
REGA clarified that field inspections are one of the key mechanisms it employs to regulate the real estate market. During the same period, its inspection teams carried out 15,443 regulatory audits of advertising boards and real estate offices, uncovering several violations. These included conducting real estate brokerage activities or services without holding a valid license, failing to exercise due diligence in verifying information provided by property owners or usufruct holders, and omitting the license holder’s name or license number in property-related advertisements. REGA also received 666 real estate reports through its various channels, all of which were addressed and resolved. Additionally, more than 5,236 electronic scanning operations were conducted. REGA continues to adopt electronic monitoring targeting digital channels and real estate platforms to verify the compliance of advertisements and digital real estate brokerage practices with applicable laws and regulations.
REGA urged all real estate brokers and service providers to adhere to the rules and provisions of the Real Estate Brokerage Law and to review the list of violations to avoid penalties. These penalties may include warnings, suspension or revocation of licenses, or financial fines of up to SAR 200,000. The law’s implementing regulations outline the classification of violations and their corresponding penalties. REGA also called on citizens and residents to report suspected real estate violations or fraud through the report response channel via REGA’s official platform or by calling (199011) for real estate inquiries.
