Joint field supervisory teams from the Real Estate General Authority (REGA) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development carried out inspection tours targeting real estate establishments to monitor compliance with the Real Estate Brokerage Law. These efforts aim to ensure adherence to Saudization requirements within the real estate sector, as part of the ongoing cooperation between REGA and the Ministry.
The tours revealed several violations, including practicing real estate brokerage or related services without holding a valid license, offering brokerage services without possessing copies of property ownership or benefit ownership documents, failure to deposit or register concluded brokerage contracts or completed real estate transactions on the official electronic platform, employing non-Saudi workers without obtaining work permits or Ajeer program notifications, and cases of workers employed by parties other than their official employer.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development urged the public to report violations via the Ministry’s smartphone application or by calling the unified number (19911). It is noted that joint supervisory tours are a key component of the broader supervision and compliance framework for the real estate brokerage system. REGA carries out its oversight responsibilities through four primary channels: the REGA's field supervision teams that verify the legitimacy of establishments' work or the legitimacy of advertising boards for displaying properties, supervision campaign path in which it participates in supervision campaigns with relevant entities on Saudization violations, commercial cover-up or work premises legitimacy, in addition to electronic supervision path targeting electronic channels and real estate platforms to verify advertisement legitimacy and digital brokerage practices, and response path to reports submitted through the REGA's platform or calling the unified number (199011).
