The Real Estate General Authority (REGA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, carried out (14) joint inspection tours during December. These included visits to (228) real estate establishments across the Riyadh Region, Eastern Region, and Makkah Region. The purpose of the tours was to ensure compliance with real estate legislation in general, and the Real Estate Brokerage Law in particular, as well as with regulations related to Saudization under the jurisdiction of the participating government entities.
REGA clarified that field inspections are a key component of its efforts to regulate the real estate market. During the same period, REGA’s inspection teams conducted (20,452) field operations, which led to the detection of (10,141) real estate advertisements in violation of regulations in public spaces. In addition, REGA received (252) real estate-related reports through its various communication channels, all of which were handled and addressed. Meanwhile, electronic scanning operations exceeded (28,714) during the same period. REGA uses digital monitoring systems targeting online channels and real estate platforms to verify the authenticity of advertisements and ensure that digital real estate brokerage practices comply with applicable laws and regulations.
REGA urged all brokers and real estate service providers to comply with the provisions of the Real Estate Law and to address any violations in order to avoid penalties, which may include warnings, suspension or revocation of licenses, or financial fines. The implementing regulations of the law specify the classifications of violations and their corresponding penalties. REGA also called on citizens and residents to report suspected real estate violations or real estate fraud through the designated reporting track on REGA’s official platform or by calling (199011) for real estate-related inquiries.
