The Real Estate General Authority (REGA)’s Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Abdullah bin Saud Al-Hammad, praised the media sector for its role in documenting and highlighting the achievements of the real estate regulatory system, particularly in areas of governance and reform. He also commended its efforts in conveying the voices of beneficiaries to help improve operations and advance the development and sustainability of the real estate sector, ultimately enhancing the services provided to its stakeholders.
In his speech at the opening of the “Real Estate Media Forum,” Engineer Al-Hammad emphasized that the Forum affirms the vital role of media and journalists in driving the growth and sustainability of the sector. He noted that REGA and media institutions are moving forward together on a shared path toward future goals, guided by the foundations and vision set by the wise leadership—may God protect it—which has placed great importance on media engagement as a core element of national development and collaboration.
He further explained that REGA recognizes the significant impact that real estate-related information can have on individuals, companies, institutions, and the overall economy. In light of this, REGA has introduced regulations governing the provision of real estate information and opinions, requiring those engaged in real estate consultations and analysis to obtain licenses. These licenses ensure the qualifications of those providing information and guarantee their adherence to analytical standards and professional practices when sharing opinions through media channels. REGA also makes real estate data readily available to media outlets to reinforce the principles of transparency and clarity that form the foundation of the comprehensive real estate sector strategy.
Engineer Al-Hammad stated that through this edition of the Forum, REGA aims to raise awareness among real estate professionals and introduce best practices for using and accessing real estate data. The goal is to enhance transparency, foster community engagement in service development, encourage innovation and creativity, and transform the ideas presented at the Forum into actionable projects that REGA will continue to follow and implement.
