The Real Estate General Authority (REGA) announced the commencement of registration for the third batch of the training program offered by the Saudi Real Estate Institute to obtain the FAL License for Real Estate Consultancy and the FAL License for Real Estate Analytics. Registration will remain open for five days through the Institute’s official website. Completion of the training program is a prerequisite for practicing real estate consultancy or analytics activities.
REGA clarified that both real estate consultations and analyses are among the real estate services regulated under the Real Estate Brokerage Law, which came into effect in July 2023. The Law governs mediation in real estate transactions between parties, as well as other real estate service activities including real estate marketing, property management, facility management, real estate auctions, real estate advertisements, and real estate consulting and analytics, all of which must be carried out exclusively by licensed and qualified establishments or individuals.
REGA explained the distinction between consultancy and analytics lies in their delivery method. According to the implementing regulations, both are defined as recommendations, opinions, or advice related to the real estate sector. Real estate consultancy must be provided in writing to the beneficiary and requires a formal contract between the provider and the beneficiary. In contrast, real estate analytics are disseminated through public channels such as media outlets, social media platforms, or similar mass communication tools.
The training program, which opens for applications today and closes on Friday, 3 January 2025 (3 Rajab 1446 Hijri), is designed by the Saudi Real Estate Institute in collaboration with leading local and international training organizations specializing in real estate consultancy and analytics. It covers legal, communication, and technical aspects, and is delivered by expert trainers over a period of two months (eight weeks), reflecting the importance of ensuring accuracy and professionalism in the information and advice provided to beneficiaries.
The program will be delivered in person in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam on a quarterly basis due to the hands-on nature of the skills and knowledge required. Each track includes (14) training courses. For the consultancy track, applicants must hold a university degree and have at least three years of experience in any real estate activity. For the analytics track, applicants must have at least ten years of experience in real estate activities in addition to a university degree.
Applications can be submitted for the training program through the Saudi Real Estate Institute portal for registering interest in the real estate consultancy track https://srei.sa/FormData/RealEstateConsulting or through the following link for registering interest in the real estate analytics track https://srei.sa/FormData/RealEstateAnalytics. REGA will review the applications and verify the requirements. Applicants will be notified of their nomination results in the initial stage. Accepted candidates will subsequently be informed of course schedules and locations. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate from the Institute and can proceed to complete the license issuance process through REGA’s electronic services platform. The license is typically issued within five working days following program completion.
It is worth noting that the FAL real estate license is the official authorization that permits individuals and establishments to practice brokerage and real estate service activities under the Real Estate Brokerage Law. This law aims to regulate real estate brokerage, enhance the quality and innovation of services provided to beneficiaries, improve the efficiency of real estate transactions, support brokers and clients, contribute to asset sustainability, minimize disputes, safeguard stakeholder rights, and increase transparency in the real estate market.
